The Business and Culture program is designed for students who are majoring or minoring in business or economics and considering a career in the business world, or who plan to explore graduate studies in business or pursue an MBA. You will be able to take courses from the areas of Business Studies, Economics, or Economics and Finance, either pursuing courses in one of these tracks or choosing courses from multiple areas. The program provides you a better understanding of the theories and tools that address the complexity of issues in today’s global economy.
All students are required to take either the CIEE course Dutch Culture, or an UvA Dutch language course.
For further information about the program, including dates and course information, please visit: CIEE: Business and Culture in Amsterdam.
If you are interested in applying to a CIEE program, we strongly advise you to meet with an advisor prior to applying.
Selection for the program is based on a review of your written application, recommendation, transcript(s), and completion of the interview process. Qualified applicants are recommended by a GEO Study Abroad Program Advisor. The final selection of participants is made by CIEE.
IMPORTANT: Application for a CIEE program involves two parts:
- Completion of the GEO application process.
- Completion of the CIEE application process.
Please note that the GEO deadline supersedes the CIEE deadline. An application fee is due at the time of application and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- One term microeconomics, one term macroeconomics, and one additional course in accounting, finance, management, marketing, mathematics, or statistics
