CIEE: Global Sustainability and Environment in Cape Town

Program Overview

Cape Town is perhaps the best microcosm of the challenges facing many African countries in transition – making it the perfect location to study sustainability matters. During CIEE’s Global Sustainability and Environment program, local experts and CIEE’s expert staff will provide the tools you need to develop a real-world project to help Cape Town. You will also experience South African culture by living with a host family, going on trips and excursions throughout the country, and more.
In this program you will spend three days in a former South African township to see how disadvantaged groups live, experience life in an EcoVillage for a week, and learn to speak Afrikaans or isiXhosa.
You will also have the opportunity to attend local theater, music, and dance productions, and rugby matches.
