How to Apply

Applying Through Global Education Oregon

Students that attend the following universities apply directly through Global Education Oregon by following the steps below. You are still encouraged to contact your study abroad office as soon as possible for advising and other important information.

1. Create a profile in the GEO online system
The first step in the application process is to create an online profile using the GEO online application system. Go to the program brochure page for the program you would like to apply for and select the “apply now” button, and follow the prompts. The GEO online system is where you will access important information throughout the process of studying abroad.

2. Read university-specific application instructions
Once you have created a profile and logged in, please read the Application Instructions for further details regarding the application process for your campus. Campus processes vary, so it is important to pay close attention to the details listed on the Application Instructions document.

 

Applying Through Your University

Students that attend these universities are required to apply through the study abroad office on campus before submitting an application to GEO. Please follow the steps below to start your application process.

1. Apply to study abroad at your university
Your university requires you to apply first to the study abroad office on campus and gain acceptance before submitting an online application profile to GEO. Contact the study abroad office on your campus to obtain further instructions on how to apply for a GEO program.

2. Create a profile in the GEO online system
After you have been accepted by your home campus, the first step in the application process is to create an online profile using the GEO online application system. Go to the program brochure page for the program you would like to apply for, select the “apply now” button, and follow the prompts. The GEO online system is where you will access important information throughout the process of studying abroad.

 

Selection and Participation

Participants must meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen program, and be prepared linguistically, academically, and socially to succeed abroad. Study abroad participants must satisfactorily complete the following:

  • Well-written program application
  • Interview process
  • Timely submission of required paperwork
  • Attendance at pre-departure orientation sessions
  • Payment of program fees

 

Program participants must also demonstrate the ability to be successful overseas through evidence of maturity, motivation, and flexibility, and such other characteristics as Study Abroad Programs may deem relevant or appropriate. Participation in any program is subject to the approval of the Office of International Affairs and its partner institutions, which may grant or withhold such approval in their sole discretion.
