Beach Day

Private bus trip from London (transport included in program tuition) to nearby beach towns like Brighton, Hastings, Dover or Margate, just for the sake of sun and ocean air and getting out of the city for a day.  If Brighton, the group will have a guided tour of the bizarre Royal Pavilion.  If Hastings, the group might stop at Hever Castle or the site of the battle of Hastings.  If Dover, the group might also visit Canterbury.  If Margate, the group will have prepaid admission to the new Turner Art Museum.

Mexico City

Mexico City is one of the oldest and largest cities in the Americas. Embark on an overnight trip with the group where you will have the chance to see to see its colonial architecture, artwork, and learn more about its rich cultural heritage. Some places you might visit while on the excursion include the Pyramids of Teotihuacán, the Chapultepec Castle, Frida Kahlo’s museum in Coyoacán, the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Torre Latinoamericana, and the Zócalo, the heart of the city where you can find National Palace, the Templo Mayor, and the Catedral Metropolitana.

Guanajuato

Day trip to the town of Guanajuato, an iconic location of Mexican culture and history. Guanajuato was the location of pivotal events in Mexico's independence movement and home to world-renown muralist Diego Rivera.

Bernal

Day trip to explore the colonial village of Bernal, known for its breathtaking landscape, artisanal cheeses, and wineries.

Aran Islands

Explore the Gaelic-speaking islands with their sweeping cliffs, ancient forts, and vibrant folk culture. You will experience on of the last strongholds of Irish culture as it was 100 years ago and more.

Connemara

The rugged western landscapes of Connemara are breathtaking. The mountains, valleys, and lakes, and its haunting history of the 1840s Irish Famine, make it one of the most beautiful and powerfully affecting landscapes in Europe.

GEO Ambassador Scholarship

The GEO Ambassador Scholarship is a scholarship available to all students (UO and non-UO) applying to GEO faculty-led programs and GEO Center programs. Individual awards range from $500-$1,000.
