Lacey hails from the Nebraska prairie and recently completed an MA in International Studies with a specialization in Food Studies and Nonprofit Management. She has spent time in Ghana doing fieldwork and research on women vegetable farmers and urban agricultural systems in Accra. She has studied and completed a Fulbright fellowship in Germany, and has spent valuable time hiking and biking throughout Germany, Ireland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, and Hungary. She has experience teaching English and German to non-native speakers and has spent time doing nonprofit work in equitable food access and sustainable agriculture for recent immigrant and refugee populations in the US. As a study abroad program advisor, Lacey advises students who are interested in studying abroad in Africa & Oceania and also advises on international internships and exchanges. When she’s not working, Lacey is busy growing and foraging for food, running and climbing outdoors, and experimenting with watercolors.
