Fantastic Beasts and Fashion in London

In this semester program you will study how humans use both animals and fashion as representations both historically and contemporarily. London will come to life in your classes as you discover the animals (real and fictional) that call it home as well as the fashionistas who have launched trends around the world. You’ll research how industries and artists have used animals and clothes as symbols through excursions and meetings with leading experts.

Politics in London

Immerse yourself in current events and unprecedented political changes in the capital of the United Kingdom. Participate in two Political Science courses over a four-week experience that will explore differing perspectives on international government and policies. Meet political party leaders and discuss politics in United Kingdom in the aftermath of Brexit. With London as your classroom you’ll visit historical sites that will provide context for recent shifts in the political landscape.

Gender, Race, and Class in London

Most of the program will take place in London. For each class, we will meet one day per week for two hours on site at the GEO Centre. For the second day of each class we will visit locations in London related to the week’s topics. For Law & Order: UK we’ll visit a “scene of the crime”—somewhere related to a place in the novel or TV show for the week. For the religion class, we’ll visit a religious institution.
