George J. Mitchell Scholarship

The Mitchell scholars program is named in honor of former US senator George Mitchell for his pivotal contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process. Up to twelve scholars between the ages of 18-30 are selected for one year of post-graduate study in any discipline in a higher learning institution in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Awards are given to scholars based on academic merit, leadership, and commitment to community and public service. The award covers the cost of tuition, housing, a living expenses and international travel stipend.

Full-time undergraduate students need an institutional endorsement from the University of Oregon fellowship advisor. Graduate students, part-time students, and non-students do not submit institutional endorsements.
