IE3 Global offers offers several $500-$1,500 scholarships for degree-seeking students who have completed an application for a IE3 Global program or internship. Applicants will be evaluated based on academic merit, financial need, potential for success, with a goal of supporting students from a variety of universities participating in a variety of IE3 programs.
The Global Oregon Initiative invites UO undergraduate students to apply for one of ten $500 research awards and UO graduate students to apply for one of five $2,000 research awards offered to support global education experiences (intensive study abroad, international internships, international research opportunities, participation in international events). The award can be used for activities between May 1, 2017 and April 1, 2018.
Generation Study Abroad offers two awards to assist in financing a study abroad experience in New Zealand.
Administered by the UO Center for Asian and Pacific Studies (CAPS), Freeman Internship Fellowships of up to $6000 are available for students conducting internships in East or Southeast Asia. Freeman-ASIA (Freeman Awards for Study in Asia) is designed to support U.S.-based undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who are planning to study overseas in East or Southeast Asia. The program’s goal is to increase the number of U.S. citizens and permanent residents with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures.
Award recipients are required to share their experiences with their home campuses or communities to encourage study abroad by others and fulfill the program's goal of increasing understanding of Asia in the United States.
Administered by the UO Center for Asian and Pacific Studies (CAPS), the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS) provides academic year and summer fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students in foreign language and either area or international studies.
This scholarship, funded by the Fund for Education Abroad, will be awarded to a deserving LGBTQI student who aims to participate in a high-quality, rigorous education abroad program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college in the U.S. The study abroad program must be eligible for credit at the student's educational institute and a minimum of 4 weeks abroad. Students interested in being considered for this annual scholarship should indicate this through their FEA scholarship application forms.
UO Portland students are eligible for this scholarship for students attending a university in Portland. Applicants must be U.S. citizens currently enrolled as an undergraduate student. The study abroad program must be eligible for credit at the student's educational institute and a minimum of 4 weeks abroad.
GoOverseas.com, the New Zealand government, and STA Travel have partnered to provide a $15,000 NZD tuition scholarship to study abroad in New Zealand. In addition, the award will cover up to $2,500 towards the cost of flight. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must complete and submit the online application.
