Students

Welcome to GEO (Global Education Oregon)—your first step on the path to studying abroad as a UO student.

At the University of Oregon, you have more than 250 programs to choose from, in 90 countries around the world. We offer a range of global educational experiences throughout the academic year and summer that thrill, challenge, and inform. More than 25% of UO students study abroad, with nearly 1,400 of you going abroad each year.

Course offerings and academic programs are extensive and serve a wide number of subjects and majors. Service learning projects and internships are also available. Whether you want to study sustainability in a modern capital or explore the urban landscape of an ancient one, we have a program for you.

When you study abroad, you can satisfy general education, major-specific, and elective credits, and still graduate on time. You can also walk at graduation with a special international sash that proudly displays where you studied—see this video of our 2015 graduates.

At GEO we believe that study abroad is for everyone. For a comprehensive list of programs, scholarships and financial aid options, visit the Global Education Oregon office in 333 Oregon Hall during drop-in advising hours (M-F, 1:30-3:30 pm) to speak with a study abroad advisor, or explore a world of opportunities online at geo.uoregon.edu.

To make the most of your experience abroad, we recommend improving your language skills. The UO offers courses in 22 languages. Visit languages.uoregon.edu to learn more.
