Program Overview

Add a new level of cultural integration and engagement to your academic experience! Choose a host family in Spain or Italy and take advantage of the opportunity to converse and exchange with them virtually. Enjoy the warmth of your own host family and share fun virtual activities while making real connections and language progress.

Weekly activities include a live interaction over a meal and several video, audio, and text exchanges during the week.

Virtual homestay activities are synchronous, with participants determining the most convenient schedule and platform (Zoom, Skype, or What’s App).

 

Budget

$50 per week in SPAIN

$75 per week in ITALY

NOTE: If you are a Pell Grant recipient for the current academic year, GEO will extend you a 33% enrollment discount on this GEO element. Documentation required.

For students who are not Pell Grant recipients, note that GEO will extend a 15% discount to you if you purchase 6 or more Elements.

These discounts cannot be combined.

Non-UO students: Actual credit awarded is determined by the relevant department at your university in consultation with the study abroad office. Check with your study abroad advisor for more information.
