A mangrove island and important frigate bird rookery located in the Río Chone upstream from Bahía de Caráquez and San Vicente, Isla Corazón is a testament to the power of community conservation. Local fisherfolk restored the island by hand following an episode of deforestation that threatened to dismantle a key part of the ecosystem upon which their livelihoods depended. The island is currently protected by the national government and serves as focal point of a small tourism industry, yet nearby shrimp farms continue to pose dangers to the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem.

Visit several wineries where the world-renowned fine wines of Tuscany are produced. The visits will be integrated with the marketing course content as learning field excursions.

Tour the Duomo and the center of the city; visit the Uffizi Gallery and Accademia.

Visit the Prado Museum, with paintings from Rembrandt, Velazquez, Goya and more. Tour to the Reina Sofia Museum, a contemporary art museum housing paintings of Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso and many other twentieth century artists.

Visit the monastery and the pantheon housing the tombs of the kings and queens of Spain. Visit the Valley of the Fallen, built by General Francisco Franco for the soldiers who died during the Spanish Civil War.

Tour the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, view El Transito medieval synagogue and the Museo Sefardi. Visit la Iglesia de Santo Tomé to see the famous Greco painting "El Entierro del Señor de Orgaz".

Visit the Spanish Civil War battle site that inspired Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls. Travel King Carlos III's royal fishing and hunting grounds with magnificent mountain views, including a Roman bridge.

Visit two castles in the province of Segovia—Coca and Cuéllar or Turegano and the Pedraza castles. Tour one of the nearby wineries/bodegas and see the prehistoric caves in nearby Pradena.

Explore the eighteenth century palace, gardens and fountains and visit the Glass Museum with a glass blowing demonstration.
