Take your first step towards studying abroad by applying for GEO’s Planning Scholarships. There are three scholarships that help UO students plan for success abroad. You can apply as early as Fall of your freshman year by the December 15 deadline. Recipients will be identified approximately one month after the deadline. Those recipients can plan on having a scholarship waiting to be used whenever they decide to participate in a GEO-sponsored study abroad program. To make it easier for students to apply for multiple Planning Scholarships, there is now a common application. By submitting one application, you will be considered for all three awards listed below:
- GEO Scholarship for First-Generation College Students: For First-generation college students. UO undergrads & grad students. Financial need. Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- GEO Scholarship for Students with Disabilities: Documented disability with UO Accessible Education Center. Financial need. Open to UO undergrads and grad students.
- Map Your Future Scholarship: First-year undergraduate students only (transfer students with less than 45 credits). Financial need.
Deadline: December 15
In addition to the three planning scholarships, GEO offers the GEO Passport Grant, (deadline also Dec 15) which covers the cost of a US passport. It is available for first-time U.S. passport who are Pell-Grant recipients, U.S. citizens, and have completed less than 90 credits at UO.
