Diverse Ducks Ambassador
Ambassador program for Ducks who are studying abroad
Experiencing Identity Abroad
For many of us, the way we define and understand ourselves—and the way others define and understand us—is deeply rooted in place; our identity is shaped by our community and home culture. Living in another country or culture forces us to rethink our own identity and how we define ourselves, which in turn often makes us question how we define and understand others. This is one of the many benefits of studying or interning abroad. Diverse Ducks Ambassadors will create content for GEO in which they reflect on how they experience their identities while abroad.Regardless of how you define yourself, GEO encourages all students who are interested in exploring the relationship between identity and cultural exchange to apply to be a Diverse Ducks Ambassador.

Testimonials
"Being a Diverse Duck Ambassador in Singapore was an experience that reshaped how I see myself. As someone who is Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese, and American, I’ve often felt caught between cultures. However, when I was abroad, that became a strength. This program helped me reflect and gave me the confidence to embrace my fluid identity and use it to connect with people in ways I never expected. I’m grateful to have been part of a program that celebrates students like me and shows that global experiences are for all of us." - Logan Adams
"Being a two-time Diverse Duck Ambassador has been a privilege. As a first-generation college student and the child of immigrants, studying abroad once felt completely out of reach. Serving as a Diverse Duck Ambassador helped me change that narrative. This program uplifts voices like mine and shows other students from underrepresented backgrounds that they can study abroad and that their experiences matter. I’m proud to be part of something that opens doors for others." -Sarah Shewaye
