Local excursions will include visits to museums, cultural centers, memorial sites, government offices, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to peace and the promotion and protection of human rights.Day-trips: Students will participate in 1-2 day-long trips to Croatian towns to visit cultural events (e.g. festivals) and/or visit human rights organizations.  The purpose of the day-trip excursion is for students to better understand how human rights and peace studies are embedded into local Croatian culture.

Students will participate in a weekend excursion to a location on the Dalmatian coast.  Students visiting Split will have the opportunity to tour Diocletian’s palace, tour the old city of Split, and visit the local beaches.  Optional day-trip excursions (e.g. sailing, visits to local islands, and hiking in nature preserves) are also available.

Private bus trip from London to Stratford, via Oxford where the group enjoys a private guided tour of the university with some time for lunch or a visit to the world-famous Ashmolean Museum.  In Stratford, the group is housed in B&Bs in walking distance to the town center and Royal Shakespeare Company’s theatres.  Each student receives a pass to all Shakespeare properties, including Shakespeare’s birthplace and trips to Mary Arden’s farm and Anne Hathaway’s house. Two-three plays at the RSC. One group fish and chips dinner at “The Dirty Duck” pub.

Tour the sites and monuments of Bath, including the Roman Baths, the Abbey Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, and the Georgian Bath.
