Program Costs & Pricing

Every program page has a price and budget information. All students are strongly advised to become familiar with their program’s budget and with GEO financial policies before committing to a program. Program costs can vary depending on several factors, such as program length, cost of living where the program is based, availability of on-site staff, program excursions and activities, etc.

Billing Schedule & Methods

UO Students

Program Deposit

A non-refundable program deposit of $500 is due within one week of acceptance or nomination offer to confirm your space on the program. The program deposit is not an additional fee but is part of the total GEO program fee.

  •  Your account will be charged within one week of authorizing GEO to charge the deposit. The $500 deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. The payment for the deposit is typically due 3-6 weeks after it is billed. Late payments are subject to UO’s standard late fee policy

Once a student has authorized GEO to charge the deposit to their UO student account, the program deposit is non-refundable except in cases where a student is denied acceptance to the program for which they have applied. If the required application materials are not completed by the deadline, the application will be considered abandoned and cancelled by GEO. In such cases, the deposit will not be refunded. Students who fail to pay the program deposit by the first cancellation/deferral date listed below may have their program application canceled.

Main Program Fee

Any program fees paid to GEO will be billed through your UO student billing account on DuckWeb. GEO follows the same billing and payment timeline used for regular UO tuition and fees, so you can expect to be billed based on the following schedule:

Any GEO scholarships you are awarded will be credited to your student billing account. If your program lasts for multiple terms, your GEO scholarships will be disbursed in full during your first term abroad.
