Visit Córdoba and see the "Mezquita", formerly the Grand Mosque and now a cathedral. Tour the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Jewish Quarter and other historical neighborhoods. In Granada, take a guided visit of the Alhambra. In Seville, visit the cathedral, the Plaza de España, Maria Luisa Park and the Reales Alcázares.

Enjoy an excursion to Mendoza to visit Cerro de la Gloria, the Andes mountains, and award-winning Malbec wineries throughout the province.

Other visits to sites of interest in and near Rosario are scheduled by the instructors for each of the content courses. Activities typically include visits to museums, cultural sites, historic monuments and local organizations relevant to the courses. Examples include: Tango lessons, Walking tour of Rosario, Sailing on the Paraná River, Centro de Expresiones Contemporáneas, Macro Museum, Centro Cultural Parque España, Museo de la Memoria, Milongas Las Chiruzas, La Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario, and Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Juan B. Castagnino

Explore the second largest city in Argentina and view the historic Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (Cathedral of Córdoba). The church is a National Historic Monument of Argentina.

Take a weekend to visit Buenos Aires with walking tours of the Old Quarter and San Telmo and a visit to the Museo del Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires.

Tour the Oviedo Old Quarter, Monumentos Prerrománicos, Catedral and Camara Santa de Oviedo and Cueva Prehistorica El Pindal/Tito Bustillo. Visit the museums of Bellas Artes de Oviedo, Emigración de Asturias and Sidra de Asturias. Enjoy a field trip to Gijón, Covadonga and Cangas de Onis and Llanes. 

Tour the old and new cathedrals, visit the Universidad de Salamanca y Colegios Mayores and explore the Plaza Mayor. Visit the central monuments of the city, home to Spain's oldest university.

The program includes three local visits in Oviedo and Gijón, guided by the art history professor and GEO staff members. Admission and transportation are included. Enjoy a walking tour of Oviedo’s medieval quarter and see some of the following: Catedral de Oviedo, Museo Arqueológico, Museo de Bellas Artes and Monumentos Prerrománicos. Visit the coastal city of Gijón and see one of the following: Museo Etnografico Pueblo de Asturias, Termas Romanas, Villa Romana de Veranes, Yacimiento Arqueológico de Campa de Torres, Jardines Botánicos or Universidad Laboral.

At León, tour the Cathedral, the Basilica de San Isidoro and the Casa de los Botines. At Astorga, visit the Museo Diocesano de Gaudi, Cathedral and the Museo del Chocolate.

Enjoy welcome and farewell meals hosted by GEO, movie nights at the GEO Center, and tapas nights with professors and staff.
