I am incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in Cinema Studies in Dublin. The program was an invaluable part of my education, not only within my major but also in my pursuit of developing as a more worldly, well-rounded person. In high school, if someone had told me that I'd spend a summer term abroad halfway across the world, I wouldn't have believed them. This is because I didn't think an opportunity like that would be accessible to me, and, additionally, I thought I'd never be brave enough to take such a large, independent leap out into the world.
Cinema Studies in Dublin put all my past anxiety to rest. This trip has done so many things for me. I found meaningful connections with my peers; I networked with industry professionals; I gained confidence in marketing myself/working with others; I got to know the incredible Irish Gaelic culture; I improved my literacy in the context of global citizenship; and most importantly, I had a heck of a ton of fun!
