Division of Global Engagement Photo/Video Submission Guidelines 

We are so excited for you to go abroad, and we would love to experience what you experience! Students ask us what it is like to go abroad; hearing and seeing stories, pictures and videos from students to help paint the picture. When taking photos, videos or creating a TikTok, think What was I interested in seeing about this program/location while preparing to go abroad? And highlight that. 

 

Photo and Video Ideas: 

  • Group pictures with other UO students (if applicable) 

  • Can be taken by someone else, front-camera selfies and back-camera selfies at 0.5x 

  • Solo pictures 

  • Share photos of yourself in your favorite places abroad 

  • BeReals; a photo a day challenge if they don’t have the app  

  • Easter egg challenge?? Can you find a duck abroad 

  • Throwing your “O”  

  • Solo or group! 

  • Monuments, scenery of nature and/or cityscapes, streets, etc. 

  • Anything that stands out or is “famous” in your city/location/university 

  • Photos that show what the city looks like 

  • Excursion/activity pictures and videos (horizontal and vertical) 

  • Day in the life abroad (vlog style highlighting your commute, your classroom, what you do for fun, cultural activities) 

  • What I eat in a day 

  • What’s in my bag/pack with me to...,  

  • Night/weekend/work/school life in (place) 

  • Come with me to (activity) 

  • What no one tells you when traveling to... 

  • What I’ve learned about the culture 

  • No drugs, alcohol, nothing inappropriate/illegal, profane, dangerous, etc. Use good judgement! 

Essentially, we want your high-quality photos and videos (both vertical and horizontal) that showcase your program, the activities, culture, landscapes, and people. If taking videos, please record at least 10 seconds of footage (I.e.: pan from side to side, still shots, slow zoom in and out), commentary is not required but encouraged, and get a wide variety of content!

How to upload photo and video content: 

Submit your content and stories to Smartsheet form. If you have additional content to share or a link (I.e., to Google Photos), please email dgecomms@uoregon.edu   

Model release form: 

Please complete the model release form authorizing the University of Oregon to use your photos and video for marketing purposes. 

Using UO Equipment? 

Fill out the Property Check Out Form and email the completed form to dgecomms@uoregon.edu.
