This scholarship supports undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences (opens in new window) studying Chinese and accepted to a University of Oregon-sponsored study abroad program in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan. Scholarship amounts can range from $1,000-$2,000.
In memory of Jack Watson, former UO Department of Theatre Arts (opens in new window) faculty leader for the London Theatre Program across sixteen years, this scholarship fund is designated to support students hoping to participate in the London program. Recipients must be Theatre Arts majors or minors, with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The Department of German and Scandinavian strongly encourages students pursuing a major or minor in German Language, Literature, and Culture, German Studies, and Scandinavian Studies to participate in a study-abroad program.
An annual award of $1,000 is made available for outstanding students majoring in German, preferably those intending to teach German, to study abroad in Germany. Candidates are nominated by the faculty.
The UO College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) offers numerous undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships for continuing students. Many of these scholarships may be applied to your study abroad program costs. CAS offers different awards based on major, financial need, and merit.

Hildegard Kurz Foreign Language Scholarship
The UO Department of Global Studies (opens in new window) offers Judy Fosdick Oliphant Scholarships (opens in new window) to support undergraduate majors fulfilling the international experience requirement for the Global Studies major.
Scholarships are open to current UO undergraduate students who are declared majors or minors in the Romance Languages Department at the time of application as well as to all graduate students in the Romance Languages Department (opens in new window).
Golden Key is the world’s premier collegiate honor society, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and connecting high-achieving individuals locally, regionally and globally with lifetime opportunity, reward and success.
Ten US$1,000 scholarships are available each year to Golden Key International Honor Society members who study abroad. Awards are based on academic achievement and relevance of study abroad program to major field of study, as determined by the selection committee. Membership is by invitation only.
Clark Honors College (opens in new window) students can apply to different scholarships to study abroad, including two specifically created to serve Honors Students at the UO:
Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) scholarships are available only to CIEE program participants. These grants are awarded each year to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. The awards are applied directly to the applicant’s CIEE program fee.
