Finding My Calling in Spain

Studying abroad in Segovia, Spain, was truly life-changing for me. It wasn’t just about traveling or taking classes in a new country, it was about deeply engaging with a different culture, learning to see the world through a new lens, and discovering more about myself in the process. Living in Segovia allowed me to fully immerse myself in Spanish culture. From the rich history and architecture to the daily rhythm of life in a small, welcoming city. But what impacted me the most was gaining a broader understanding of global issues and realizing how connected we all are, despite our differences.

This experience sparked a stronger desire in me to advocate for change and to work toward a more just and compassionate world. I grew not only academically, but personally becoming more empathetic, open-minded, and driven. I left Spain with a clearer sense of purpose. I’m now preparing to attend law school next fall, with the goal of working in international human rights law. Studying abroad solidified that dream. It opened my eyes to injustices that exist beyond borders and inspired me to be part of the solution. I want to use my voice and future career to stand up for those who are unheard, and my time in Segovia helped me realize how deeply I care about making a difference on a global scale.

If you’re thinking about studying abroad, do it. It will challenge you, shape you, and open doors you didn’t even know were there. You’ll come back changed in the best possible way.
