Whether it was biking for hours in the park, flying to a different country on the weekend or taking a train to a new neighborhood, I felt a sense of familiarity and adventure during my time in Berlin. The comfort came from my cohort: the students with whom I bonded with over nightly döner kebabs and google maps complications. The adventures we embarked on ranged from wandering in a museum to dancing at a German music festival. I was surprised at how quickly such a big city felt like a second home. We crossed paths with people in cafés, bars, and hostels—each with stories that sparked our curiosity and made us want to know and see more.
