In general, my time abroad has been going well. I'm realizing it's my first time living in a big city, and the culture has motivated me and inspired my work. It was a bit of an adventure getting here and settling in, and now that we are in a work routine, I'm truly soaking in the experience and my time abroad. As the time we have here is fleeting, I am trying to make the most of it. We had the opportunity to visit the Alhambra and the Great Mosque, both of which were incredible. It was great to imagine the time in history, then put our place and time in perspective, and the grand scheme of it all.

The architecture of the buildings with intricate details, the great smells and foods, and the wonderful culture of the places we visit. We also had the great opportunity to study with industry professionals, working with Alonzon Gonzales and learning from him about his CLT school, trying to absorb as much information as possible to inform my designs for a nursery in the Marinadel Prat Vermil district. As well as learning from Jesus and Cythia, we are learning about regenerative principles not only in our buildings but also in our communities.
Adjusting to living in Barcelona has come with its fair share of challenges, mostly with translation, but I feel there is intention and a genuine attempt at connection that have helped overcome language barriers. Also, finding humor in different situations has come through; we all share the same sense of joy and laughter.
Enjoying the journey and the process,
