Course Description

The program is organized so that the students can acquire a holistic foundation of knowledge based on four areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing—putting each of these in practice in any place or situation. Upon completion of the Intermediate Spanish as a second language course, the student should accomplish the following objectives:

  • The student can now follow a wide range of sequential oral directions from various familiar contexts.
  • The student is able to follow simple written instructions up to ten different steps.
  • The student can also read two to three paragraph standard formulaic texts for both specific and general ideas.
  • The student is able to relate simple sequences of events in the past, present and the future.
  • The student also has an advanced level of simple conversation skills, being able to interrupt the conversation and make arguments while debating a controversial topic.
  • The student is able to write short personal narrative, descriptions, andIntermediate Spanish I1explanations.
