Choosing to study abroad in Osaka was the best decision I have ever made. To anyone who is considering it, I highly recommend going for it! First of all, when studying abroad I learned so much about, not only the country I went to, but the world from this experience. When you become an international student, you get the chance to meet other international students from all over the world. Thanks to GEO, I now have friends in almost every single continent in the world and I learned so much about their countries culture, society, laws, and beliefs. Learning about people's experience from across the world really changed my global view and I wish for everyone to have this kind of international exposure so they can learn as much about the world as I did.
When considering studying abroad in Japan, many people go for Waseda, wanting to see the famous city of Tokyo, however I think Osaka University is a school that everyone wanting to go to Japan should consider. Osaka is a unique city with a friendly and exciting culture! Japanese people from this area are known for being funny and kind and, in my experience, this holds to be true. I have had only positive experiences when interacting with locals and Japanese students at Osaka University! The school itself is beautiful, I attached a picture of the nature on campus and as someone from PNW who cannot survive without nature, I was overjoyed when I saw just how beautiful the campus's were. Even though the campus is close to nature, you can easily get to the center of Osaka with just one train ride! Osaka is the perfect combination of nature and city and I hope everyone loves the city as much as I do!
