Attend a general information session on February 12th from 12 to 12:50 p.m in 121 McKenzie Hall. 

The spring quarter Psychology in London program offers students the opportunity to earn major satisfying upper division Psychology credit, all while immersing themselves in one of the most significant and fascinating international cities in the world. You will take courses from faculty who are experts in psychological history and research. This intensive program in a fast-paced city will require you to balance your academic, work, and personal responsibilities while allowing you to make progress towards your educational, professional, and personal goals by experiencing all that London has to offer.

Discount for Pell Recipients

To expand access to study abroad, GEO is offering a $500 discount for this program to UO students who currently have the Pell Grant as part of their federal financial aid (FAFSA).

Academic Details

You will enroll in three courses or four courses.

  • Social Psychology (equivalent to PSY306)
  • Managing People in Organizations (equivalent to PSY 300-level elective)
  • Life Lessons from Performance Psychology (PSY 300 level elective)
  • Individual Differences (PSY 300 level elective)
  • Contemporary Britain in a Global Setting (equivalent to GLBL 300-level elective)

London will serve as a classroom as much as the center itself. Academic activities are integrated with excursions, giving you an inside look into the vibrant history of psychology research in the United Kingdom. Courses are taught by British faculty who have experience teaching US students as well as considerable practical experience in the related field they are teaching. Visits to several well-known cultural locations in the city and surrounding area are also planned. All instruction is in English. Courses make use of a variety of materials and texts, all of which are included in the program fee. Students should be prepared for a rigorous academic experience and a busy schedule. Classes will run Tuesday-Friday every week.

Housing Description

Students will be housed in shared studio apartments conveniently located in Zones 2 or 3 in London. Students will be within walking distance of the Tube network, local supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes.

The studio apartments are fully furnished and the cooking spaces will be fully equipped with utensils, plates, glasses and cookware. 

All studio apartments will have access to Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and 24/7 emergency support.

The application will have a housing questionnaire to assist with roommate assignment process. Please note that students may share an apartment with students of a different gender.

Cancellation Policy

Student is responsible for 50% of total GEO program fees

Note that scholarship funds are not able to be applied to program deposit.

IMPORTANT: The GEO Cancellation Policy is effective from the time a student agrees to pay their non-refundable program deposit or electronically signs the program commitment form, regardless of application or acceptance status. It is essential to read this policy before a potential cancellation takes place, to fully understand the withdrawal and cancellation penalties, and to understand what it means financially to commit to a study abroad program.

Students who cancel their participation must notify GEO in writing. Email is acceptable (geoinfo@uoregon.edu). Verbal notification to GEO or notification given to a non-UO campus study abroad office is not sufficient.
