I couldn’t have asked for a better study abroad experience! Siena is quaint, safe, and amazingly rich in history and culture. Studying wine, marketing, and sustainability here has been incredible, but the hands-on experiences outside the classroom are what make it unforgettable. From immersing ourselves in local ways of life to learning about the deep passion behind the Palio horse race, a tradition going strong for over 700 years, every day brings something very new! One of my favorite parts so far has been the cooking class we took as a program.

My trip to Milan was amazing; we learned so much about Italian design and the beautiful arts and culture that make it so special. These photos and videos are highlights of the trip, from what we learned and unforgettable experiences with my classmates! Being abroad is an educational experience in itself, but the professors went above and beyond to integrate Italian design education into our everyday lives on this trip! This is an experience I’ll carry with me into my education and how I design!

Studying abroad in Amsterdam was a fantastic experience. I had the opportunity to explore an incredible city on my own, with new friends, with local Amsterdammers, and with incredible academic guides. The content of this course engages important and pressing questions about what it means to be queer in the world today. Amsterdam is the perfect landscape through which to explore these profound questions about resilience, oppression, global queer culture, community, belonging, archives and history, and queer global travel.

Studying abroad in Amsterdam was one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic journey. Living and learning in an international environment allowed me to broaden my perspective, meet people from different cultures, and gain a deeper understanding of how business, technology, and society operate on a global scale. The city itself was incredibly welcoming, and I loved being able to explore its history, culture, and unique way of life while balancing my coursework and professional development. My biggest takeaway was the confidence I gained from stepping outside my comfort zone.

My time in Oviedo is something I will never forget. Before I even got there, I missed my second flight and had to spend a night in Amsterdam, a city I quickly fell in love with and intend to return to someday. That was my first lesson: the unpredictability of travel. You can let it get you down, or you can use it to learn and grow. 

Studying abroad in Barcelona was one of the most meaningful experiences of my college years. It challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone, embrace a new culture, and develop a greater sense of independence. Living in a city with such rich history, vibrant traditions, and diverse perspectives allowed me to grow not only as a student but also as a person. Exploring Barcelona while learning alongside students from different backgrounds broadened my perspective and encouraged me to think more critically about the world around me.

¡Hola hola! It’s week three of my program in Querétaro, and I don’t want to leave in only three more weeks! I’ve really settled into my daily routine, and I’m finally getting the hang of balancing schoolwork with family time and exploring the city by myself or with friends. Before I left for México, I had not anticipated how exhausted I would be just from speaking and listening to Spanish all day every day; I have never been so tired (and so fulfilled).
