The American-Scandianvian Foundartion (opens in new window) (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (up to $5,000) to individuals to pursue research, study or creative arts projects in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one year.
The Butex Scholarship seeks to promote mobility between universities and colleges in the UK and institutions overseas by offering multiple awards of £500 (almost $800) to undergraduate students interested in studying in the UK.
DIS - Study Abroad in Scandinavia offers a wide range of scholarships for students participating in DIS Copenhagen or DIS Stockholm programs. Each year, DIS grants over $2 million in scholarships, and on average, 50% of all students receive financial support from DIS through scholarships and discounts.

ItaliaRail is committed to helping students study abroad in Italy — and immerse themselves in the country’s rich and dynamic culture. The ItaliaRail Scholarship is open to those who have enrolled in a Summer study abroad program in Italy. ItaliaRail will be awarding 5 scholarships of $500 each, and a complimentary International Student Identity Card (ISIC).
Application Requirements:
The Association of American Study Abroad Programs in the United Kingdom (AASAP/UK) Lord Acton Memorial Scholarship offers awards to students studying abroad in the United Kingdom through an AASAP/UK member organization. Awards of £500 for a semester or term abroad, or £1,000 for a full year are offered yearly.
Eligibility Requirements:
The Mills Scholarship supports UO students participating in any GEO or GEO-sponsored study abroad program. Approximately 20-30 students per year are awarded a $500 Mills Scholarship. Selection is based on financial need, academic merit, and a well-written scholarship application. The GEO Scholarships Committee will review applications
The Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence (opens in new window) is committed to the access, retention, and engagement of under-represented and multiple-identity students. CMAE provides support and leadership development, cultural programming, academic services, and dedicated space. Our mission is to ensure that students are provided with opportunities to explore, understand, and affirm the complexities of cultural identity that shape the human experience.
Annually, at least one $1,000-$2,000 scholarship will be awarded to students accepted for participation in UO-sponsored study abroad or international internship programs. Selection is based on academic merit, financial need, and a well-completed scholarship application. Special consideration will be given to residents of Kauai and students with Education, Business, or Journalism majors. The GEO Scholarships Committee will select the recipients.
The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) (opens in new window) is committed to diversifying education abroad and will award scholarships each in amounts of up to $1,500 for Summer programs, $5,000 for Semester programs and $10,000 for Academic Year programs.
Obtaining a passport is one of the first steps to complete when considering studying abroad. In an effort to support University of Oregon student participation in study abroad programs, the Division of Global Engagement has funded a passport initiative. This initiative awards a grant that covers the cost of a U.S. passport book and first-time processing fee to all eligible freshman and sophomore standing students.
