Program Overview

Study Korean language and directly enroll in courses at Dankook University. Some classes in business and computer science are available in English. Students with a high level of proficiency in Korean language have the option to enroll in other subjects which are taught in Korean. You may also participate in group activities and excursions with other international students from all over the world. You will stay in double-occupancy campus dormitories offering excellent cultural events, shopping, tourist attractions, and restaurants nearby with convenient public transportation available.

Dankook University, founded in 1947, is a comprehensive research university maintaining two large campuses, the main campus in Jukjeon 20 miles south of Seoul and the other in Cheonan 20 miles south of Jukjeon. Public transportation including buses, subways, and railroads are available either at the campuses or nearby locations with DKU shuttle buses.

Dankook University offers a Language Tutoring Program in which you will tutor and teach English to local students for a total of 40 hours during the semester. In addition to getting to meet Korean students and gaining valuable work experience, you will also receive free on-campus housing for the semester. Please speak with your GEO advisor for more information.

In some cases, an interview is required. If your program requires an interview, you will be contacted with further details about this process after the application deadline. Early applications are encouraged.

Successful applicants will receive an exchange nomination from GEO. Selection will be based on a holistic review of your application. This includes a review of your GPA, transcripts (including courses taken and in-progress), any additional requirements or prerequisites (see section "Additional Requirements"), and written statements.

Applying for an exchange program involves 2 steps. If you receive a nomination from GEO, you will also need to complete the host university's application, which is administered and reviewed by your host university directly. Instructions will be provided after acceptance by GEO. The host university makes the final decision regarding acceptance into the program.
