Explore first-hand the major challenges and impacts of refugees in the context of Jordan and Switzerland with the Refugees, Health, and Humanitarian Action program. You will engage in rigorous academic coursework and research with a focus on refugee assistance and humanitarian action, and examine key principles and laws related to refugee status and treatment.
This program includes the following: a 12-week homestay in Amman, Jordan; intensive Arabic language study; thematic seminars; independent research project (last month of program); and field visits to Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps, healthcare facilities, and international relief organizations. You will also travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to learn from experts at health and humanitarian agencies including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, World Health Organization, and International Red Cross.
