CIEE: Summer Accelerated Chinese Language in Shanghai

The Summer Accelerated Chinese Language program is designed to provide you with with strong foundation in Chinese language while also offering ample opportunities to observe and experience the fast changing pace of Shanghai.
You will participate in daily courses and one-on-one engagement, with language instrction available at various levels of proficiency. This program also offers peer tutorials and language clinics, homestays, cultural activities and volunteer opportunities. You will be required to take two consecutive accelerated Chinese language courses.

Actual credit awarded is determined by the relevant department at your university in consultation with the study abroad office. Check with your study abroad advisor for more information.

If you are interested in applying to a CIEE program, we strongly advise you to meet with an advisor prior to applying.
Selection for the program is based on a review of your written application, transcript(s), and completion of the interview process. Qualified applicants are recommended by GEO Staff. The final selection of participants is made by CIEE.
IMPORTANT: Application for a CIEE program involves two parts:
1. Completion of the GEO application process.
2. Completion of the CIEE application process.
Please note that the GEO deadline supersedes the CIEE deadline. An application fee is due at the time of application and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
