The Joan Bowman Siegel and Mark Siegel Travel Fund will make available 2-4 scholarships of $1,000-$2,000 for undergraduate students participating in UO-sponsored study abroad programs or internships in Asia, with a preference for Japan. Applicants must be enrolled in any major in the College of Arts and Sciences. Selection is based on academic merit and a well-completed scholarship application. Preference will be given to applicants with previous college-level Japanese language coursework. The GEO Scholarship Committee will make the awards.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate student at the UO and enrolled in any major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Applicant must ultimately be accepted to participate in a UO-sponsored study abroad or internship program in Asia, with preference given to programs or internships in Japan.
- Applicant must have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
- Preference will be given to domestic students (US citizens and residents).
