Course Description

This course tries to give a broad vision of the present economic and monetary situation of the countries that at this time make up the European Union. At the same time the institutions and the government agencies of the European Union are studied to understand the reach and the future possibilities that this supranational organization offers as an economic united block immersed in the today´s world.  The unique only currency, the EURO, and its consequences for the economic future of the “EURO ZONE” and the rest of the world economic powers is analyzed in detail.

The course helps students to understand how monetary and financial considerations are fundamental in economic decisions and how these decisions can affect countries and the world, how central banks and governments have a role and responsibility within their broad global community.
