This course aims to provide a general understanding of international trade and, more specifically, knowledge of techniques used in export practice. It is composed of two parts. The first part deals with customs procedures, the overall international carriage of goods and also the techniques and tools of international payment. The second part, entitled Export Diagnosis, is a project based on a real case that you and other students will conduct. It will familiarize you with the conditions that SMEs have to meet in order to implement a successful export strategy. Working in small groups, you will assess the feasibility and chance of success of several export projects submitted by existing SMEs. You build a business plan and develop recommendations based upon your own analysis of data collected from foreign markets, academic and professional sources.
