Golden Key International Honor Society

Golden Key is the world’s premier collegiate honor society, recognizing outstanding academic achievement and connecting high-achieving individuals locally, regionally and globally with lifetime opportunity, reward and success.

Ten US$1,000 scholarships are available each year to Golden Key International Honor Society members who study abroad. Awards are based on academic achievement and relevance of study abroad program to major field of study, as determined by the selection committee. Membership is by invitation only.

Clark Honors College

Clark Honors College students can apply to different scholarships to study abroad, including two specifically created to serve Honors Students at the UO:

Roger and Ginny Reich Scholarship for Study Abroad - Tentatively Available

The Roger and Ginny Reich Scholarship awards $1,000 to a student at the Clark Honors College attending a UO-sponsored study abroad program for a minimum of one full term. Applicants must have a 3.70 GPA. 

Council on International Educational Exchange Scholarships

Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) scholarships are available only to CIEE program participants. These grants are awarded each year to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. The awards are applied directly to the applicant’s CIEE program fee. American - Scandinavian Foundation Fellowships and Grants

The American-Scandianvian Foundartion (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (up to $5,000) to individuals to pursue research, study or creative arts projects in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one year.

Grants are considered suitable for post-graduate scholars, professionals, and candidates in the arts to carry out research or study visits of one to three months duration.

Butex Scholarship for Study in the UK

The Butex Scholarship seeks to promote mobility between universities and colleges in the UK and institutions overseas by offering multiple awards of £500 (almost $800) to undergraduate students interested in studying in the UK.

Applicants must ultimately be accepted into a Butex affiliated school program in the UK for a minimum of one semester. Applicant programs cannot be eligible for an ERASMUS grant. For more information visit the Butex Scholarship website.

DIS Scholarships

DIS - Study Abroad in Scandinavia offers a wide range of scholarships for students participating in DIS Copenhagen or DIS Stockholm programs. Each year, DIS grants over $2 million in scholarships, and on average, 50% of all students receive financial support from DIS through scholarships and discounts.

ItaliaRail Study Abroad Scholarship

ItaliaRail is committed to helping students study abroad in Italy — and immerse themselves in the country’s rich and dynamic culture. The ItaliaRail Scholarship is open to those who have enrolled in a Summer study abroad program in Italy. ItaliaRail will be awarding 5 scholarships of $500 each, and a complimentary International Student Identity Card (ISIC).

Mills Study Abroad Scholarship

The Mills Scholarship supports UO students participating in any GEO or GEO-sponsored study abroad program. Approximately 20-30 students per year are awarded a $500 Mills Scholarship.
