Program Overview
Combine your interest in ethical banking, sustainable finance and circular economy in Geneva, one of the world’s leading financial centers and a major international hub for international organizations and NGOs. While learning about macroeconomics and global finance from a socially responsible and sustainable business perspective, you’ll build networks with experts at leading financial institutions, nongovernmental organizations, universities and think-tanks. You’ll have the option to intern with a sustainable development company, start-up, or intergovernmental organization or a Swiss or international NGO or conduct research in sustainable development and finance, circular economy, ethical banking, or impact investing.
During a two-week excursion to Greece, you’ll gain insight about the international 2008–09 financial crisis and examine the impact it had on the country’s financial system and economy. You’ll get a first-hand view of the recovery and state of society from Greek and international experts on the ground. You’ll also experience the richness of Greek culture, history, and cuisine.

Additional requirements
Previous college-level coursework and/or other significant preparation in economics, finance, business administration, or alternatively in public policy, international relations / government / sociology, ethics and social responsibility.
Application process
If you are interested in applying to an SIT program, we strongly advise you to meet with an advisor prior to applying.
SIT Study Abroad has rolling admission, which means that applications are reviewed on a rolling basis between the opening and closing dates of the review process. Applications must be complete to be reviewed for admission. Since many programs fill long before the published closing dates, you are strongly advised to apply early.
Qualified applicants are recommended by a GEO Staff. The final selection of participants is made by SIT. The SIT admissions committee strives to select students who will be the best possible match for the program. You should submit strong academic references and demonstrate a consistent academic record, clear motivation to study abroad, solid reasoning for their program choice, and an understanding of the program model.
IMPORTANT: Application for a SIT program involves two parts. Both parts of the application are due by the GEO application deadline.

- Completion of the SIT application process.
Please note that the GEO deadline supersedes the SIT deadline. An application fee is due at the time of application and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
