In this exchange program, you will enroll directly in classes at OP Jindal Global University, the top ranked private university in India. JGU is a research intensive university, which is deeply committed to its core institutional values of interdisciplinary and innovative pedagogy; pluralism and rigorous scholarship; and globalism and international engagement. With around 9,000 students and 1,000 faculty, JGU maintains a low student to faculty ratio, and all classes are taught in English.
JGU’s twelve schools focus on Law, Business & Management, International Affairs, Public Policy, Liberal Arts & Humanities, Journalism, Art & Architecture, Banking & Finance, Environment & Sustainability, Psychology & Counselling, Languages & Literature and Public Health & Human Development. Students are able to take classes from any school, provided they meet the eligibility requirements for each class.
JGU is located on a 100-acre residential campus in the National Capital Region (NCR) of New Delhi. The Campus is designed by renowned, award-winning architect Stephane Paumier whose projects include the Alliance Française complex and the upcoming Air Force Museum in New Delhi. There are many amenities on campus that exchange students can take advantage of, including a convenience store, a 24-hour Health Center, campus security, and numerous sports facilities.
To make the most of your time in India, JGU has a travel desk that can help you book trips to other parts of the country. All international students are also provided with free pickup from Indira Gandhi International Airport. There is also a shuttle bus that will take students to the metro station nearest the JGU campus to allow you to explore Delhi. The shuttle bus charges a small fee (100 INR, or approximately 1.25 USD).
Sonipat is located about 25 miles from Delhi, and forms part of India’s National Capital Region. It’s a city of historical significance and is prominent in mythology and legends. Its proximity to New Delhi also provides students with ample opportunity to explore India’s vibrant and dynamic capital region.
