My time here in Oviedo has been absolutely wonderful. It's a city that both gets bigger every day and yet if feels intimate and small. I could stay in Asturias another month, truly. The food, especially fabada (a traditional Asturian stew), is incredibly good, and I'm just so happy here. I've been inspired to write more, not just because of the program, but because of the sheer interest that this city provokes from me.
Hi everyone! My name is Logan Adams, and I’m Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese, and American. My mom is half Taiwanese and half Chinese, and my dad is half Japanese and half American. Having a mix of identities like this makes me especially excited to be in Singapore for the summer - there’s probably no better place for someone with a diverse background to feel connected to so many different cultures at once.
Hi! I’m Madison, a Business major at the University of Oregon, and I’m currently interning as a Financial Analyst in Bangkok, Thailand. One of the identities I’m highlighting during my time abroad is living with celiac disease—a chronic autoimmune condition that requires me to follow a strict gluten-free diet. Traveling or living in another country with this condition adds an extra layer of planning, caution, and adaptation, and I wanted to share what that’s been like so far.
