Academic Details

You will immerse yourself in the Spanish language at GEO's Segovia Center, and attend classes designed exclusively for GEO participants. Local GEO instructors, experts in their field, have extensive experience teaching U.S. students. All courses are taught entirely in Spanish. Classes are typically small, allowing you the opportunity to interact frequently with faculty members in and out of the classroom. The central location of Segovia facilitates excursions to neighboring sites of importance. Excursions are led by professors and are integrated into the courses, encouraging students to apply what they learn in the classroom to the sights around them.

This Spring quarter program offers two tracks. The first is designed for students who have previously completed the equivalent of SPAN 102 or SPAN 111 to finish SPAN 103/112 and also the entire second year of Spanish on the program. The second track is designed for students who have completed SPAN 103 or SPAN 112 and wish to complete the entire second year of Spanish plus additional 200 level credits on the program. Both tracks include a pre-set course load of 4 courses, offering 160 contact hours of Spanish instruction.
