Program Overview

Location Overview:

If you want to explore a city with an expansive canal system, historic architecture, and a bustling crowd of international tourists, Venice isn’t your only option. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, has been rated the most visited city in the world. Whether you’re a foodie, sports fan, or history buff, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

While Thailand was never colonized, Bangkok became a key port for spreading Western ideas and materials. Today, it’s a medley of old and new, with vibrant markets, stunning Buddhist temples, and a palace situated alongside busy roads and high-end shopping malls. And if you don’t want to get stuck in traffic, catch the BTS Skytrain, which soars high above the pavement.

Take a look at one student's Bangkok adventure!

Late applications may be accepted based on position availability but note that for some terms and locations the program can be very competitive. After review by the University, students will need to interview with our third-party provider for final acceptance. For more information, view the full GlobalWorks application steps here. Note that you only need to submit one application per term for GlobalWorks and can identify alternate locations within the application.

To intern abroad in this location, note that a visa will be required. This is an additional cost that is outside of the program fees and will also require additional steps to apply and may impact timelines and travel prior to program start. Your individual provider will offer more instructions and next steps but students will be responsible for applying and submitting documents on time for the visa.

If you are not a US Citizen: Notify your GlobalWorks Advisor. Students who are not US citizens should contact the consulate in their country of residence about visa requirements, no matter the duration of the program of study.
